My daughter gave birth to a beautiful little boy late this afternoon. Mom and baby are doing fine. Big sister is very excited. The little guy was 4 weeks early but still weighed in at 7 pounds 3 ounces. Maybe a good thing he did not go full term.
It was a long but very happy day.
Wishing you all Happiness as well.

Everything is a go
I just heard from my daughter. Her water definitely broke and she is 3 cm. dialated. They are going to try the gel to bring on labor. If that does not work, she will get a drip first thing tomorrow morning. Keep your fingers crossed that everything goes well. Thanks.
Happy Day.

I'm on pins and needles
Well, I was woken up in the middle of the night by my daughter who dropped her dogs off. She and my sil were on their way to the hospital(45mins away). At 36 weeks pregnant, she started leaking amniotic fluid. It has been 7 hours and I have not heard any thing yet. I hope everything is going ok. I will keep you posted .
This is a card I made for a "Summer" challenge at Creative Accents Challenge blog. It is a simple card that uses a 3-D sheet by Pixiedust. I can no longer find her website so sorry, I can not give you a link. Because this is 3-D, it does not scan very well, but the batteries in my camera are dead. As I look at the scan now, I see I should have sponged the edges of the tag, and I still will do that. To get the texture in the middle of the background paper, I inserted it into my crimper and only crimped part of the paper. It gives a nice effect, I think.
I hope you like the card and I hope everyone's summer is going well.
Bye for now and Happy Day to you.

CST challenge #5
This is a simple card I made for the CST one layer card challenge. I have trouble making one layer cards. Something just seems missing. But this large embossed flower fills up the space and looks ok without matting. Still had to sponge the edges to give it a finished look.
Thanks for stopping by today. Hope it is a good one for you.

CST challenge
I got a new embossing folder, made by "Craft Concepts". Love it. It doesn't show up in the scan, but I embossed the tree on a piece of white textured paper that has a very light grey speckle. Then sponged that with brown and sage green and brown around the outside. Stamped the For You(Stampin Up) with sage ink and then mounted it on sage base card. I punched the bird from orange cs sponged with brown and then added with pop dots.
I make my cards mainly to sell to raise money for our local "Relay for Life". I have found that people are much more willing to spend $1.00 for a card that takes 10 minutes to make than $3.00 for a card that takes an hour. So my cards are becoming simpler and simpler. This next card is the one I made for a CST (Canadian Stamp Talk) color challenge. The colors to use were
Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso, Tempting Turquoise, and Regal Rose. The card is basically the same as the last one except I used the required colors and added the die cut tag and ribbon.
That is it for today. Hope you are all having a good one.

Birthday card
This is a card I made for a young friend who loves kitties.
I used Stampin up stamps for the pocket, flowers and sentiment. I used a digi stamp from Spyder's website. Here is the link to her site. This digi is no longer available but she always has new things to share.
The inside of the card has another pocket, with money tucked into it and a sentiment that says "A little something just for you"
I hope you like this card and Happy Day to you.

Have to share
I attended a surprise birthday party for a dear friend a couple days ago. She is my granddaughter's auntie, on the other side and is very close to her especially because Camryn's daddy (my son in law) passed away
4 years ago when Camryn was 2 years old. Now, I know that my friend is uncomfortable with receiving expensive gifts (or any gifts at all), so I chose to make something for her. It cost me very little, except for time. So as the gifts were being opened, and there were lots of beautiful things, I started thinking that my little home made gift looked pretty small in comparison. And then I thought "No, she is going to love it. And it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks". And you know what? She did love it. She told me later that my gift was the most special of all and she would treasure it. And I believe her. So here is a picture of what I made for her. You have to know, that if you ask Camryn what her favorite colors are, she always says, "pink and purlpe and gold and sparkles", so that is what I used.
Here is a link to the sayings on the pull out tabs.

She liked the card too :-).
Happy day to you all.
